Data Deletion

How to request deletion of your personal data from Thuita products and services, including data collected via WhatsApp and other platforms.

Your Right to Deletion

You have the right to request the permanent deletion of all personal data that Michael Thuita Limited holds about you. This includes data collected through our products and any data received via Meta platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram).

We take this right seriously and will process all confirmed deletion requests within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

On a confirmed full deletion request, we will permanently and irreversibly remove:

  • Your user account and profile information (name, phone number, business type)
  • All financial records linked to your account — expenses, income, categories, and descriptions
  • Conversation and session history stored in our systems
  • Subscription records and access logs associated with your account

What we may retain: Where required by law (e.g. Kenyan accounting and tax obligations), we may retain minimal transactional records for the legally mandated period. These will be held securely and not used for any other purpose.

How to Request Deletion

Option 1 — Via WhatsApp (fastest)

If you use Thuita Finance (WhatsApp Accountant), you can request deletion directly from our WhatsApp number. Send the message:

“Delete my account”

Our system will confirm your identity via your phone number and walk you through the confirmation steps. This is the fastest path — typically processed within 24 hours of confirmation.

Option 2 — Via Email

Send an email to admin@thuita.com with:

  • Subject: Data Deletion Request
  • The phone number or email address associated with your account
  • The product(s) you wish your data deleted from (or “all products”)

We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification.

After Deletion

Once your data has been deleted:

  • Your account cannot be recovered — deletion is permanent
  • You will lose access to all Thuita products associated with that account
  • Any active subscription will be cancelled. No refund will be issued for unused subscription time.
  • Statement links (if any) generated from your account will become inaccessible

Partial Deletion

If you wish to delete specific data — for example, individual expense records or a particular date range of transactions — rather than your entire account, you can:

  • Use the in-product deletion features where available
  • Contact us at admin@thuita.com with the specifics of what you want removed. We will assess and respond within 5 business days.
